Here's the 10 things I need to be happy, in no particular order.
1) My family. They keep me sane when I need it the most, even though most of the time, they're the ones making me crazy. My mom is my best friend. We've had our ups and downs, but our relationship is better now than it's ever been. I recently found out that she know how I use music to express myself, rather than talking about stuff. My nephews are my world. And, even though the kicked my ass when we were younger, I know I can count on my brothers whenever I need them.
2) My friends. I'd be completely lost without them. They hold me on the rare occasions when I cry. They never judge me, even when I screw up pretty badly. They put up with all my bs. I don't quite have the words to explain what they mean to me. But I know I'd be a complete fucking wreck without them.
3) My dog and cat. I've had my chihuahua, Lilly, for about 9 years now. She cuddles with me every chance she gets, and likes to steal my pillow when I leave the room. She's getting old, but she's always playful and seems so happy to see me. It's nice to feel adored, even if it's by a dog. :] And my cat, Ike, is like my child. He's SOOO spoiled. When I make salmon, he gets some, he occasionally drinks from a glass, and picks up food with his paws. He's really tuned in to my moods, so when I'm upset, he'll let me cuddle with him till I feel better.
4) Music. If I had to choose between being deaf or blind, I'd go blind. Music is everything to me. I associate songs with people, so I feel like I always have a part of them with me when I have my ipod. And that thing is always with me. For me, music makes things hurt less.
5) The boyfriend. We haven't known each other forever. We've been togeth
er for a little over 5 months, but in that time, he's made the effort to learn more about me than people I've known for years. I've always had bad trust issues and my self-esteem kinda sucks, but he works with me. And I finally got to the point where I believe him when he tells me I'm beautiful. I still won't use that as a word to describe myself, but I honestly believe that HE believes it. Does that make sense? I'm a very passionate person, so I do everything whole-heartedly, even getting mad. He puts up with all that, and when we have disagreements, he talks to me about it. That's totally new to me, because every guy I've ever dated usually just flipped out. But then again, he picked me, so that's probably why we work so well. :) [inside joke.] I'm gonna stop writing about him for now, because I'll go on forever. Lol.
6) Makeup. No, I don't think I "need" it, but I sure as hell love it. :) I don't understand the concept of "natural makeup." I think it's an oxymoron. (Is that the right word?) If I'm gonna take the time to put it on, and spend the money on it, I want it to be FUN. I love bright colors and I experiment all the time.
7) Football. Oh yeahhh. I'm a die-hard Cowboys fan. I don't care what their record is, or whether we're goin to the Superbowl or not (ok, I lied, I do.) because regardless of how they do, they're my team. And I'd look really dumb if I was talking trash and someone saw the star on the back of my neck. (Yeah, so die-hard that my first tattoo was the Cowboys star on the back of my neck.) I live for football season and I'm totally lost without it. I even have a game-day outfit. Blue jeans, white undies, white bra, white tank top, Marion Barber jersey, one blue and one white sock, and white tennis shoes. And during football season, my braces are always blue and silver. Oh, and I was a Cowboys cheerleader for Halloween. I honestly can't tell you how, why, or when the Cowboys became my team. I guess I just have good blood like that. :)
8) Givesmehope.com. A friend posted a link to this site on Faceb
ook and I've been addicted ever since. I've lost a lot of faith in humanity, but the people at this one, love.givesmehope.com, and kidsgivemehope.com are definitely changing that, one story at a time.
9) MTV and VH1. I honestly love their reality shows. That's another addiction. :]
10) Books. I love to read. And I read pretty quickly, so the problem is that I finish books too fast. I don't have a problem reading something more than once, either. I like to see how things fit together once I know how it ends. I don't know, it's probably weird, but that's just me. :)
So those are my 10 things. I hope you enjoyed them!
Rest In Peace, Seth Silas Young. I love you, kid. <3
