Krista - Holiday! Celebrate!

So I'm supposed to write about my favorite holiday celebration...and I'm going to be honest...I'm having a hard time choosing one. Holidays are kind of a big deal in my family, so each one has something special about it which makes it nearly impossible to pick just one.

So I'll just say that New Year's Eve always seems to be a good holiday for me. And it's not even my favorite one. And here's just a few examples of why I had so much fun.

New Year's Eve 1996, I was freezing in New Hampshire with Nicky and our friend Mike. We stayed up watching movies and talking all night long. Plus, I had just met this cute guy :)

1999, sitting on my friend Mark's couch, watching the clips from all of the world celebrations as everyone realized their fears about Y2K were ridiculous before heading out for drinks.

2000, Reema, Randa, Amber, Richie and I think Sarah was with us too(?) going to Remedy's for some karaoke and then going to Rack's to play pool and dance.

2004, My uncle flew into town to see my grandparents and my sister and I were both staying with them, so my mother took pity on us and got us a hotel room where my sister and I along with our kids held our own little party watching the new year's eve specials and beginning the tradition of Chinese food for dinner on New Year's Eve.

2007 - We stayed the night at my ex's parents house and had a huge firework display. His dad had gotten a shots recipe book and he and I spent most of the night trying to out drink one another...hence why we stayed the night at their house.

2009, Tiff and I went out and tore up the town...and Geoff admitted that he had made a mistake all those years before. We spent hours talking before I quite literally fell asleep on the phone with him.

2010, I spent it up north with Geoff and despite the freezing temperatures, we went out and had a few margaritas...enough so that I felt playful enough to grab a handful of snow and start a fight in the street with him. Then we stayed up until midnight watching Dick Clark's Rocking new Year's Eve...in which I totally enjoyed seeing NKOTB even if they were singing with Backstreet Boys!

I can't pick just one...each of those nights stands out as something special in my mind...being around people I loved and starting the year out with them...it doesn't seem like there is anything better in the world.
